Transitioning Garments: Series I
In this series of garments I produced two dresses as a result of transforming the paper nets from the ‘Rock Mannequins’ which were created collaboratively for the exhibition, CONSTRUCTIONS. In the pattern cutting process it became apparent that multiple garment forms could be created from the paper nets, depending upon where and how the internal volume was oriented towards the body. These garments explore the internal space of the garment in such a way. These garments were also explored as disembodied objects, to express their multiple orientations.
